Yüzme sporuna gönül verenler 2015 Samsung Boğaziçi Kıtalararası Yüzme Yarışı’ndan bir hafta sonra
Çanakkale’de buluştu. Çanakkale Savaşı’nın 100. yılında TMOK tarafından düzenlenen ‘Gelibolu 1915
Yüzme Etkinliği yerli ve yabancı 768 yüzücüyü tarihi Anzak Koyu’nda bir araya getirdi. Kıyıdan 1915
metre açıkta suya atlayan yüzücüler savaşta çıkarma yapılan tarihi alana ‘Dostluk ve Barış’ temasıyla
derecelendirme olmaksızın yüzdü. Starttan önce suya 100 adet barış çelengi bırakıldı. Parkuru
bitirenlere seri numaralı özel anı madalyaları verildi.

Swimming Race. Turkish Olympic Committee’s (TOC) Gallipoli 1915 Memorial Swimming Event,
commemorating the 100
th
Anniversary of the 1915 Battle of Gallipoli, brought 768 swimmers together in
the Anzac Cove. During the event with the theme of `Peace and Friendship’, the participants swam to the
historical landing shores of Anzac Cove from a boat located 1.915 meters away. A hundred
“Peace Wreaths”
were laid on the water before the start. No rankings were made and every participant completing the
course was awarded with special `100
th
Anniversary Memorial Medal`s.
