Feast in Bosphorus
İstanbul Boğazı, 2015 Samsung Boğaziçi
Kıtalararası Yüzme Yarışı ile bir kez daha
renklendi. 49 ülkeden 460 kadın, 1410 erkek
yüzücü ile yeni bir katılım rekoru kırıldı. 6.5
kilometrelik parkurda kıyasıya bir rekabet
yaşanırken, Bertuğ Coşkun 1:01:21’lik
derecesiyle genel klasman birinciliğini kazandı.
Mark Spitz, Ian Thorpe ve Inge de Bruijn’den
sonra, geleneksel organizasyonun bu yılki
onur konuğu İngiliz yüzücü Adam Walker’dı.

Komitesi Başkanı Nihat Usta, ilki 1989 yılında
dördü kadın, toplam 68 sporcu ile başlayan
yarışın o günden bu yana sürekli gelişerek
günümüzde çok farklı bir boyuta ulaştığına
dikkat çekerek, “Bu yarış İstanbul’un dünyaya
açılan penceresi oldu” dedi.
The Bosphorus enlivened once again with the

Samsung Bosphorus Cross-Continental
Swimming Race. A new participation record
was set with 460 female and 1.410 male
swimmers from 49 countries. 851 of the 1.870
participants were Turkish swimmers.
Bertuğ Coşkun (Turkey) finished the 6,5km
vying course up front with his time of 1:01.21.
On the trail of Mark Spitz, Ian Thorpe and Inge
de Bruijn, the honorary celebrity guest of
the Race this year was famous British long-
distance swimmer Adam Walker. Drawing
attention to the remarkable development of the
Race since 1989, where only 4 women and 64
men had competed, TOC Vice President and the
President of the Organizing Committee Nihat
Usta said:
“The Race has become İstanbul’s
window opening to the world”
.
