Azerbaycanlı 12 şarkıcının ülkenin
milli marşını yeni bir aranjman ve
havai fişekler eşliğinde okuma-
sıyla devam eden törende, ordu
mensupları tarafından stadyuma
getirilen Azerbaycan bayrağı gön-
dere çekildi.
‘Transformasyon’ ismi verilen
sonraki bölümde, 500’den faz-
la dansçı, geleneksel ve çağdaş
Azerbaycan kültürünün harman-
landığı koreografi gösterisine imza
attı. Gösteride, stadyum ortasına
kurulan Bakü’nün tarihi simgele-
rinden Kız Kalesi’nin duvarlarının
arasından kentin yeni simgelerin-
den ‘Flame Towers’ (Ateş Kuleleri)
çıktı. Azerbaycan Devlet Çocuk
Filarmonisi korosunun söyledi-
ği ‘Çal-Oyna’ şarkısı ve dans gös-
terisi eşliğinde oyunlarda yarışan
sporcular ülkelerinin bayraklarıyla
stada girdi. Sporcuların seyircileri
selamlamasının ardından BEGOC

declared the Baku 2015 inaugural
European Games closed.
In the following part of the cere-
mony called ‘The Energy of Youth’,
local and foreign hip-hop musi-
cians, dancers and artists flood-
ed the stage, carrying LED hexa-
gons above their heads, displayed
a wonderful show of music and
choreography. Then, Ateshgah fire
temple rose from the main stage,
standing on top, a sand paint-
er drew the ‘tree of life’ from the
simurg legend and 50 birds repre-
senting the 50 nations of the Games
The birds flocked together and, as
in the legend, transform into a gi-
ant simurg. As the music became
more dramatic, the sand painter
drew images of fire, conjuring per-
formers with fire wings who run
in and scatter the bird performers.
Fire dancers performed athletically
as the music intensified, and fire ef-
fects engulfed the stadium much to
the liking of the spectators.

performances by foreign musical

ma yaptı. Aliyeva, oyunlar boyun-
ca görev alan ‘Alev Koruyucuları’
olarak adlandırılan gönüllülere
teşekkür etti.
Törenin ‘Gençliğin Enerjisi’ isim-
li bölümünde ise yerli ve yaban-
cı hip-hop sanatçıları, akrobatlar,
dansçılar ve oyuncular diyot lam-
balarla müzik ve koreografi gös-
terisine imza attı. ‘Uyanış’ ismi
verilen bölümde, geleneksel mü-
zik türü ‘muğam’ eşliğinde doğu
mitolojisi ve efsanelerinde yer
alan ‘Simurg Kuşu’ sahneye ko-
nuldu. Tarihi Ateşgah Anıtı make-
tinin üzerinde kum ressamı tara-
fından çizilen ve oyunlara katılan
50 ülkeyi temsil eden 50 kuş can-
lanarak büyük Simurg Kuşu’na
dönüştü. Simurg’un ritmik müzik
ve danslar eşliğinde alevlenerek
havalanması ve stadyumu ateş
cümbüşüne dönüştürmesi, izle-
yicilerden büyük alkış aldı.
In the next part of the show called
‘Transformation’, over 500 tradi-
tional and modern dancers ap-
plauded the rich traditions of
Azerbaijani music, dance and ar-
chitecture as the walls of the
‘Maiden Tower’ peeled away to
reveal the architecturally spec-
tacular ‘Flame Towers’. This was
followed by a 50-strong chil-
dren’s choir singing the tradi-
tional folk tune, ‘Cal Oyna’, cele-
brating the nearly 6,000 athletes
from 50 nations who entered the
stadium behind their flag bear-
ers. After this, the First Lady of

Committee Mehriban Aliyeva de-
livered a speech and thanked the
athletes and the ‘Flamekeepers’
– the volunteers who’ve been
so vital to the success of the
Games. President of the European
