arasında Garanti Koza Arena’da
düzenlendi.
Dünya 2 numarası İsviçreli te-
nisçi Roger Federer, tekler fina-
linde, Uruguaylı Pablo Cuevas’ı
2-0 yenerek şampiyon oldu.
Final maçına iyi başlayan tur-
nuvanın 1 numaralı seri başı
Federer üçüncü oyun sonunda
3-0 öne geçti. Roger Federer 33
dakika süren ilk seti 6-3 kazan-
dı. İkinci set büyük bir mücade-
leye sahne oldu. İki tenisçi ser-
vis oyunlarını alınca, 12. oyun
sonunda durum 6-6 oldu ve set
‘tie break’e gitti. Oldukça çekiş-
meli geçen ‘tie break’te Federer
dört kez maç pu-
anından,
Cuevas
da iki kez set
puanından faydalanama-
dı. Skor 12-11’e geldiğinde son
puanı elde eden ve ‘tie break’i
13-11, seti 7-6 alan Federer,
maçı 2-0 kazanarak İstanbul’da
şampiyon oldu.

Çiftler kategorisinde zirveye çı-
kan ikili ise, birlikte ilk kez mü-
cadele veren Moldovalı Radu
Albot ve Sırp Dusan Lajovic
oldu. Sırasıyla 2, 3 ve 1 numa-
ralı seri başlarını deviren Albot/
Lajovic ikilisi kariyerlerinin ilk
çiftler zaferine uzandı.

Swiss broke again in the seventh
game of the second set and looked
to be in cruise control until the

set at 4-all. Federer then earned
triple break point on Cuevas’ serve
before he was able to hold at 5-4.
In the eventual tie-break, Federer
saved three set points and needed
five match points to finally seal the
victory in one hour and 36 minutes.
Speaking at the press conference
after winning his 85
th
ATP World
Tour title, Federer said:
“I’m very
proud to be the first champion here
at the first-time tournament here in
Istanbul. In Turkey, I’ve had a won-
derful week on and off the court. I
was able to visit the city a little bit,
meet a lot of people, enjoy the crowd
support and experience Turkey. It’s
been crazy, in a good way, and I
hope I can do it again one day.”
Moldovan Radu Albot and Serbian
Dusan Lajovic paired for the first
time in Istanbul to win the dou-
bles title at the inaugural TEB BNP
Paribas İstanbul Open. First time
partners also claimed their first
victory in doubles after beating
second, third and top seeds in
quarters, semis and finals
respectively.
