Şampiyon Takwondocular Olimpiyatevi’nde
Taekwondo Champions at the Olympic House
Taekwondo athletes, their ages
varying between 10 and 14 but all
champions in their age categories,
paid a visit to the Olympic House
within the context of the ‘Sports
Culture and Olympic Education
Project’ of the NOCT. The young
athletes were given some
information about the NOCT and
later watched a presentation on
the ‘Sports Culture and Olympic
Education Project’. Following the
presentation, taekwondo coach
Battal Gazi Özçınar said:
“Today,
we are here with our champion
athletes who had set their goal
as competing at the 2020 Tokyo
Olympic Games. We wanted to
visit here in order to reinforce
their concept of Olympism and to
contribute to their upbringing as
individuals that have absorbed the
sports culture. Next to football,
taekwondo is the second sport
with the highest number of

“Bugün
burada, hedefini 2020 yılında
düzenlenecek Olimpiyat
Oyunları’nda yarışmak
olarak belirlemiş şampiyon
sporcularımızla beraber
bulunuyoruz. Bu ziyareti
gerçekleştirerek, sahip
oldukları Olimpizm olgusunu
pekiştirmek ve spor kültürünü
özümseyen bir birey olarak
yetişmelerine katkıda
bulunmak istedik. Taekwondo
Türkiye’de futboldan sonra
en fazla lisanslı sporcunun
bulunduğu branş. Hedefimiz,
bu gibi organizasyonlarla
sadece başarılı odaklı değil,
spor etiğine sahip sporcular
yetiştirmek”
şeklinde konuştu.
Uzman Doktor Osman Yıldız
ise Özel Baypark Hastanesi
ile Taekwondo Federasyonu
arasında yeni bir işbirliği
doğduğunu, artık sporcu
kontrollerinin daha özenli
gerçekleştirildiğini belirtti.
Yıldız, son dönemde 100
taekwondo sporcusunu
muayene ettiklerini, bu
sporculardan üçünde kalp
licensed athletes in Turkey.

Specialist Physician Osman
Yıldız informed the attendants
that medical examinations of
the athletes are now conducted
much more rigorously, thanks
to the recent co-operation
agreement between the Özel
Baypark Hospital and the
Turkish Taekwondo Federation.
Yıldız explained that some
100 taekwondo athletes were
examined comprehensively
and it was found out that
three athletes had a heart
condition. However, with
appropriate treatment, they
will be able to go on with their
sporting career.
NOCT Deputy Secretary
General and President of the
Sports Culture and Olympic
Education Commission Bilal
Porsun said in his closing
speech:
“We feel very proud
to have hosted our champion
athletes and their praiseworthy
mothers here at the Olympic
House. You have already
achieved much success and
you are prone for many more.
Do give your mothers, who
never spare their support,
firmer hugs every day. You will
see it for yourselves that you
will become better athletes, as
long as you listen to them.”
The participants received their
Attendee Certificates at the end
of the activity.

onların saygıdeğer annelerini
ağırlamaktan büyük gurur
duyduk. Şimdiye kadar birçok
başarı kazandınız, daha da büyük
başarılar kazanmaya adaysınız.
Sizlerden desteğini hiçbir şekilde
esirgemeyen annelerinize her
gün daha sıkı sarılın. Onları
dinlediğinizde, daha iyi bir sporcu
olduğunuzu göreceksiniz”
dedi.
Sunum sonrasında katılımcılara
sertifikaları dağıtıldı.
