imzalanan anlaşma hakkında
Prof. Erdener,
“Katar Olimpiyat
Komitesi ile iyiniyet sözleşmesi
yapmış olduğumuz için memnu-
nuz. Her iki ülkenin de uzun vadeli
stratejilerinde spor var ve eminim
ki bu sözleşme gelecekte birçok
heyecan verici fırsat yaratacak.
TMOK, ülkemize üst seviyede spor
organizasyonları almaya kararlı-
dır ve gençlerin hayatlarının mer-
kezine sporu ve Olimpizmi yerleş-
tirecektir. Bizim tutku ve hırsları-
mızı paylaşan bir ülke ile yakın iş-
birliği içinde olmak, hedeflerimi-
ze ulaşmamızda bizlere yardımcı
olacaktır.”

“Türkiye’de yepyeni bir spor algısı

The infrastruc-
ture in Turkish sport is now in
place. What we shall do next is to
develop the sports policy towards
the future of our children.
Saying that İstanbul’s Olympic
candidacy had come up from time
to time in his contacts during the
Convention, Hasan Arat remarked
It’s a crying shame. Istanbul
should have won. İstanbul was
the favourite right from the start.
As a matter of fact, we lost noth-
ing; Turkey gained much in that
competition. We witnessed the
respect shown for İstanbul and
Turkey and the importance of
the relations established dur-
ing the candidacy throughout
the Convention.
When I reflect, I can see that we
had done very beneficial deeds for
the country
” said Arat and con-
cluded:
“The candidacy has left us
a respectable legacy; a new per-
ception of sports has evolved in
Turkey. Whether we bid again or
not will be the decision of the po-
litical authorities. The NOCT re-
ports on the issue must be tak-
en into consideration. There will
again be some strong candi-
dates. This is a decision that must
be well thought over and not tak-
en hastily.”

to place sport and Olympism at
the center of our young people’s
