Erdener: ‘TMOK kısıtlı ola-
naklarla ciddi işler yapıyor’

Kongresi’nin ülkenin tanıtımı açı-
sından önemli bir fırsat olduğu-
nu belirten TMOK Başkanı ve IOC
Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi Prof.Dr.
Uğur Erdener de, “
Ülkemizde spo-
ra verilen önemi, genç potansi-
yel bir nüfusa sahip olduğumu-
zu, bu kitleye spor yaptırma ih-
tiyacımızı düşünecek olursak,
SportAccord’un dünyanın bütün
spor liderlerini buraya toplayan bir
kongre olarak bize önemli bir ta-
nıtım fırsatı sunduğunu söyleyebi-
lirim. Bütün dünyadan katılımcılar
var. Yaklaşık 1.700 katılımcının bu-
lunduğu convertion. Yani işin hem
toplantılar bölümü var hem de ge-
nel kurullar boyutu var. Spora hiz-
met veren kuruluşların, firmala-
rın katılımlarıyla gerçekleşen ser-
gi boyutu var. Paneller ve tartışma
youngsters to steer them towards
appropriate sport branches.”
Telling that they would never
compromise, especially in ath-
letes’ health and ethics, Kılıç con-
tinued:
“To be quite frank, we pro-
ceed on with the ‘zero tolerance’
policy against doping. As I had
just recently told to our athletes in
an awards ceremony, an athlete
or a coach, he who gets involved
in doping shall find us standing
against him. We have established
a Parliamentary Investigation
Committee at the Grand National
Assembly of Turkey. We are work-
ing on what else can be done
to eradicate doping all together.
Same as you, our greatest wish
is to have a clean sports world.
True; success is important in
sports, medal is the mark of an
athlete, hoisting one’s flag up is
a great honour, but what is more

“Açık söylemek gerekirse ‘dopin-
ge karşı sıfır tolerans’ politikasıy-
la yolumuza devam ediyoruz. Çok
kısa bir süre önce bir ödül törenin-
de sporcularımıza söylediğim gibi
sporcu veya antrenör, bu işe bu-
laşan kim olursa olsun karşısında
bizi bulacak. Meclis çatımız altın-
da bir doping araştırma komisyo-
nu kurduk. Dopingi kökünden ka-
zımak için neler yapabileceğimiz
hakkında çalışıyoruz. Sizler gibi
bizim de en büyük isteğimiz te-
miz bir spor dünyasına sahip ol-
mak. Sporda başarı önemli, ma-
dalya sporcunun nişanesi, ülke-
sinin bayrağını göndere çektir-
mek büyük onur; ancak daha da
önemlisi bunu hayatının geri kala-
nında gurur duyacakları bir şekil-
de yapmaları. Centilmenlik, say-
gı, sporcunun kendisine saygısı
çok önemli…”

Erdener: ‘NOCT undertakes
serious works with limit-
ed means.’
Stating that SportAccord
International Sports Convention
constitutes an important oppor-
tunity for the promotion of the
country, NOCT President and IOC
Executive Board member Prof.
Dr. Uğur Erdener remarked: “
I can
safely say that SportAccord pre-
sents us an important promotion-
al opportunity as an organization
gathering all the sports leaders
of the world here in Turkey, espe-
cially, when you take into consid-
eration the importance attached
to the sports in our country and
our need to direct our potentially
