Isinbayeva was announced and
she joined the delegation at the
platform. With the announce-
ment by Isinbayeva, first the
Olympic flag was raised accom-
panied by the Olympic Anthem
and as Neşe Gündoğan took her
place at the platform, the Turkish
flag was hoisted, accompanied
by the Turkish National Anthem.

Gündoğan presented Isinbayeva
a commemorative Turkish coffee
set including a coffee pot, sau-
cers and Turkish coffee and the
Russian athlete presented her a
‘Matryoshka’, a Russian nesting
doll. Then Gündoğan put her sig-
nature on the Signatures Wall on
behalf of the Turkish Team.
